JOINED TWINS SUCCESSFULLY SEPARATED AFTER 8-HOUR OPERATION

 

The Three-month-old twins that was joined at their abdomen and chest had been finally got separated by some doctors in Barara, Ambala district, India.
The two Sisters, Jannat and Mannat were born on August 27, since that time the girls were insepable, this happened because of their condition known as omphalopagus. meaning the children’s bodies fused at the lower abdomen. Luckily, the twins’ have their hearts and other vital organs separate that allowed doctors to operate them. One of the doctors, Dr Ravi Kanojia, associate professor at the department of paediatric surgery and the surgeon who led the team, said:


“This is a rare case scenario and a surgeon would be fortunate to see a couple of cases in his or her lifetime. This is the first time such a surgery has been successfully carried out at the PGIMER.”
